Our Central Park Story

It was a crisp fall evening in Central Park. After work, I had plans to meet a friend for a movie. As fate would have it, I decided not to see a movie and instead go for a run. It had stormed earlier in the day which left my typical running path, the reservoir, covered in puddles.

The sun was just about to set and the sky was painted in reds, oranges, and yellows. I started my run and immediately something about this evening felt very different. There was something special in the air that night.

By the time I started to run my second reservoir loop, it was dark. As I approached the end of my run I stopped at a water fountain, took a quick sip, and scanned my surroundings. I made brief eye contact with a fellow runner. I picked up the pace and up ahead was a chain of puddles and the only way to continue was to jump over them. So as I jumped over the first puddle that fellow runner from the water fountain leapt along side me and said hello.

It was Andrey.

Less than two months from that evening in Central Park, we took our first trip together. We spent 5 days in Ambergris Caye, Belize. We figured it would be best to find out sooner than later how we’d travel together. That was four years ago and the adventures keep getting better.
