We spent a long weekend in Bermuda celebrating two years since we met. We managed to time our trip between two major hurricanes and were left without power and water for 24 hours. We turned it into a fun adventure and went in search of tennis courts to get our game on. 🙂
When we arrived in Bermuda, we jogged about a mile to the nearest grocery store to stock up on healthy eats for the next few days. What we didn’t anticipate was rain during our walk back carrying groceries. Luckily, a kind Bermudian saw us walking along the road and stopped to offer us a ride.
This was near day 28 of our Whole 30 experiment. The Whole 30 is basically going 30 days without any added sugars, carbs, alcohol, beans, or soy. It’s an elimination diet that is meant to reset your body from all the toxins we inadvertently put into our bodies on a daily basis. Once the 30 days are complete you can reintroduce food groups one at a time to understand which foods might be making you feel certain ways (tired, foggy, etc.). Once the power went out, I was worried we might not make it to day 30. But we made it! Thanks to the grocery shop we had enough leftovers and fresh veggies (that didn’t require cooking) and bottled water to have a meal by the light of the sunset.
